There are two types of satin ribbon:  Single Face (SF) and Double Face (DF).  Single Face Satin ribbon has a shiny side and a dull side while Double Face Satin is shiny on both sides. Many people prefer to use a Double Face Satin when making bows or other applications where both sides of the ribbon are visable.
